ALLIE BUTLER & JASS MCNEILL

About Allie & Jass:

Allie and Jass started their swing dance life together in Glasgow and instantly fell for Lindy Hop, delighting in the style’s energy, vigour and flair. They both regularly teach Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz and Collegiate Shag in Glasgow, across Scotland and beyond.

As a teaching couple, Allie and Jass specialise in blending styles, especially at higher tempos, and love to work with students on developing control in their dancing to generate and communicate energy, direction and rhythm. They are known for their open, energetic style of teaching, focusing on helping dancers find joy and musicality while overcoming challenges.

Allie and Jass teach weekly classes, workshops and public events. They are also available for private lessons and events.

About Claire:

Claire has been swing dancing since 2007 and teaching with Glasgow Lindy Hoppers for 10 years!

Claire specializes in dance styling with attitude. Her teaching style reflects a focus on incorporating fun, flair, laughter and personality into every dance, and she aims to make dancing accessible for everyone!

Claire is ambidancetrous - dancing both lead and follow roles, and teaches lindyhop, charleston and solo jazz to groups, couples and solos for social dance and performance.

About Dan:
Dan has been dancing swing since 2015 where he started learning with Kingston Swing in Hull. He has since danced wherever he has ended up in the world with Atlantic Swing in Lisbon, Full Swing in Wellington, and Lancaster Lindy Circle in, you guessed it, Lancaster!

His favourite dance is the Lindy Hop as it is all about having fun and having a great connection with your partner. Nothing beats a good swing out! Dan loves the positive energy of swing dance and hopes to bring this into his classes where he creates a fun and encouraging environment for all. Just don’t let him catch you looking at the floor or he’ll get REALLY mad!!

ZOLTAN KOMIVES

About Zoltan:

Zoltan has been dancing since 2013 after catching the Lindy Hop bug at the GLH classes and socials. Since then, he has gone on to learn swing dancing in various cities around the world, attending regular classes in London and his native Budapest, as well as attending numerous international workshops.

Now settled back in Glasgow, Zoltan brings these styles and methods together in his teaching which emphasises partner connection and musicality.

A musician of classical background with a penchant for gypsy jazz, Zoltan loves to explore improvisation within the dance in his classes. Expect the unexpected!

JOYCE MONAGHAN

Balboa, Blues, Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz

About Joyce:
Joyce knew that Lindy was the dance for her when so saw folk dancing it in San Francisco, in 2008. She soon added blues, solo jazz and Balboa to her repertoire.

As teacher, Joyce likes to pass on everything she's picked up over the years, and tries to make her classes clear, practical, and fun. Her current focus in Balboa and blues; teaching at Glasgow Balboa and Thursday Night Blues, occasionally teaching Lindy and solo jazz at GLH.

Joyce also enjoys DJing and regularly DJs GLH socials as well as ELX, Black Label Blues and Summer Camp (France).

ALICE LISTER

About Alice:

Alice is a founding member of Glasgow Lindyhoppers and has been teaching for over 10 years.

Alice recognises the importance of fun for all levels of dancer, but also the opportunity to progress and develop. As a teacher, Alice encourages dancers to find a connection to the music and to develop an understanding of the history and roots of swing dancing.

Alice believes in a strong follower voice and values the contribution of both partners to every dance. She enjoys seeing the journey that dancers can go on and is having a great time going on her own journey.
