Introducing your balboa teachers for Fast Feet Fest…Nejc Zupan and Fancy Dougherty!

Nejc started dancing swing back in 2003 as a result of his contemporary dance experience and a strong love for jazz music. Because of this he became a main culprit for popularization of Lindy Hop and Balboa in Slovenia in the mid 2000s. He has been teaching dancing since 2006. His Swing dance experience is a collection of endless research into different dance forms, many international workshops and his humble willingness to keep learning from anybody who is willing to teach him. He pays special attention to jazz movement and musicality, both quintessential to any Swing dancing.

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Fancy fell in love with Jazz, Lindy Hop and Shag in 2008. She’s been hooked ever since, devoting herself to the technical mastery of historical dances and her own unique style. She has appeared in music videos and television shows in the US, Mexico and France. She currently lives in Paris, where she teaches swing locally. She was nominated for the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame in 2014 and is the four-time Shag champion of the National Jitterbug Championships. Be sure to ask her to dance!

We’re so excited to have these two joining us in Glasgow in just a couple of months!

And last but not least…our Lindy Hop teachers Bic Graham and Simone Brown!

Simone met Bic on a crowded dance floor, they found a common passion for Lindy Hop and have never stopped dancing since. Their love for the dance has taken them to many places such as New York, China, Sweden, Barcelona and Bali to experience the various local scenes and the top teachers around the world. 2012 saw a succession of first place positions in competitions all over the UK and 1st and 2nd place at major french camps.

Bic and Simone run 3 weekly classes on the South Coast as well as many events in the UK and abroad. They are also invited to teach at various camps and workshops around the UK. They love sharing their passion for the dance and hope to encourage the lindy hop scene in the UK.

Bic and Simone have a reputation for their focus on technique in their teaching. On the social dance floor they are known for their fluid dance style and commitment to both each other and the music.
